happy halloween!

I couldn't figure out what to be for Halloween this year, so I went to the thrift store and picked up some fake flowers and made a beard.
I now introduce you to Flower Beard Man.

Melissa made a beard too! We made such a lovely pair!

Here are a couple more detail pictures of my beard:

obama's visit!

President Obama came to Charlottesville to support congressman Perriello in a big rally. It was a really big rally -- I read that 10,000 people showed up to hear him speak. Needless to say, the whole city was buzzing. The tea partiers had a protest, the anti-war folks had a protest; it seemed like everyone had something to say. It was pretty cool and also pretty funny. So, my (10 year old) friend Emerson and I decided to have our own rally (across the street from the tea party protest) to add to the hubbub. I don't have any pictures of us in action, but here are a few of our signs:

Someone also wrote an awesome article about our shenanigans:

screenprinting for PCA!

Today, Thomas, Avery and I printed shirts at an event hosted by Piedmont Council for the Arts. They were launching their Arts Access Project, so each of us made our own design and then we printed shirts on the spot for folks that attended the event.

A rainbow formed while we were printing!
And, I really like this window:

super nice review!

Peter Barnes from the C-ville Weekly just wrote a really thoughtful (and super nice) review of the show! It's particularly great because it is in the annual food and drink issue... yum!
Thanks so much!

fall times!

You know how there are those trees that explode into colors just a few moments before all the rest of them do?  There is one on my street and it is so flashy! That tree has so much swagger!

Also, I got an really sweet package from my Grandma a couple of days ago. From the contents of the package you can totally tell that we are related! Treats of all varieties! (I already ate some before I took this picture.)
